ARDBEGGEDDON VII
THE ANNUAL GATHERING OF THE PLOWED SOCIETY
Las Vegas, Nevada
January 6 - 10, 2006

Pre-Ardbeggeddon Tasting at La  Betsy's

I brought a bottle of Talisker 18 yo to the party and it was VERY well received by all the participants.  One gentleman noted he didn't like scotch since he had been given a bottle as a gift years ago that he found to have a really strange and slightly foul taste.  After a few attempts to come to grips with it he noticed it had a hairy mass suspended in it.  He poured the bottle out and never tried scotch again until this evening.  He found it incredible and admitted he needed to rethink his position vis a vis scotch whisky.  I offered him the following PLOWED advice -

"Never buy malt whisky with hair balls suspended in it!"

Seems like common sense but sometimes the obvious needs reinforcement.  I love the Talisker 18 and have been recommending it to everyone as the best malt buy for the money in the US today.   Even folks who don't much like malt whisky have given this dram a thumbs up.
